Deirdre Herlihy comes from Renanirree, Co. Cork and has three Deaf siblings, ISL being one of her native languages along with Irish. She holds a Diploma in ISL/English Interpreting from the Centre for Deaf Studies, Trinity College Dublin and is accredited R1. She is a qualified teacher and holds a full-time position as a teacher for Deaf children in Bishopstown Community College. She holds a Masters Degree in Globalisation.
